Trivia
Chittajallu Pullaiah was known to make mythological films. He was trained at Mumbai and Kolkata in filmmaking before he returned to South India. When Raghupathi Suryaprakash, son of Raghupathi Venkaiah, whom he assisted as a director went broke C. Pullaiah returned to Kakinada, turned his home into a studio and produced the silent movie, 'Bhaktha Markandeya'. 'Sathi Anasuya' is the first children's movie in Telugu and sixty child artistes were booked for it. Pullaiah took them all to Calcutta, and a teacher too along with them, so that their studies might not be interrupted. He rented a house where he looked after all the children as a parent would. Wife Rangamma ran a small diary to meet the need for milk, butter-milk and butter for the children under their care. The sixty children regarded Pullaiah as their father. Relangi used to take them out sight seeing and to movies.
'Dhruva' was made and released by director C. Pulliah as a double bill with 'Sati Anasuya'. It was two mythologicals made exclusively with children and tells the stories of Bhakta Dhruva and Sati Anasuya.
